“My initial experiences with luxury timepieces were in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the watch capital of Switzerland. Inspired by what I saw and imbibed I started developing my own ideas. I realised, in a market that offers plenty of options in luxury, one did look in vain for appealing timepieces with affordable pricing. This void was the calling for me.
During my master studies in Milan, I decided to call my target market as “affordable luxury” – a world of quality materials, noble designs and affordable pricing. This philosophy forms the core of GALANTUM.
A watch does not only show you time, it graces your wrist and defines your personality. It is a fashion statement that should not be deprived of anyone. This thought led me to the development of my first collection of timepieces. Today, I present STIMA with great pride.”
Christian Naef
Founder of GALANTUM
Switzerland is famous for its diversity: geographically, the country flourishes from the lake of Constance in east to the lake of Geneva in the west and from the lake of Lugano “the Mediterranean sole of Switzerland” to the alps. The diversity can also be found in the four official state languages: German, French, Italian and Rhaeto-Romanic, of which Rhaeto Romanic is only spoken by about 30,000 people living in the alps of Switzerland.
Christian’s grandmother hails from this region. The founder of Galantum recollects his many vacations spent in the region and feels a strong connection to the region.
The word “GALANTUM” has its roots in Rhaeto-Romanic language and stands for “a man of honor or gentleman”. A name befitting a young Swiss brand instilled with traditional values and high on quality and design.

The logo bears a coat of arms synonymous of the values the brand stands for. It represents membership, trust and style.
The coat of arms is comprised of four components. The bear represents the city of Wil, hometown of the label. The family crest and the founder’s initials form the other two eternal parts. Fleur-de-Lys completes the coat of arms at the lower right. The Fleur-de-Lys was an emblem of French Royalty and stood for pride, courage and loyalty. Since many years, a ring bearing Fleur-de-Lys dons Christian’s hand and hence it was included as the fourth icon to complete the brand’s coat of arms.
